Digital Archives and Legacy
- During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression (1937), National Peking University, Nankai University, and Tsinghua University united to establish Changsha Temporary University. The university moved to Kunming in 1938 and received its new name as the National Southwest Associated University. Tsinghua maintained its partnership with the other schools until 1946 when it returned to operating from its Beijing campus.
- During the 1952 National Reorganization, Tsinghua underwent a nationwide education reform, which converted the institution into a polytechnic university specializing in engineering. University President Jiang Nanxiang directed the institution through its essential development phase.
