"What happens to our digital memories when we're gone?"
The question landed. I was speaking to over 200 women at the Women Techmakers Uyo event on April 12th, representing Confinity as both a Product Manager and a Women Techmakers Ambassador, which put me at the intersection of two missions I care about: empowering women in tech, and preserving human legacies.
This year's theme was "Redefine Possible." It fit the day. As AI reshapes the way we work, the message asked us to break old limits and to treat emerging technology as a practical tool for solving deeply human problems.
The venue, Cafe One, made room for real conversation. Women came from all sorts of tech backgrounds, a few supportive men among them. It felt like a sisterhood.
"Everyone has a story worth preserving."
That belief drives everything we do at Confinity. The room was full of storytellers and innovators. Exactly the right place to introduce a platform for preserving memory and legacy.
We sponsored the event. We also spent the day explaining the platform and welcoming early users, and the response was immediate. Documenting a digital footprint for future generations resonated deeply; many attendees said they'd been searching for exactly this answer.
Confinity came out of our founder Ryan's own life. He watched his mother battle cancer. What he confronted is a universal truth: we live digital lives, and our most meaningful memories remain scattered across them, vulnerable to being lost forever. Our platform creates a secure space where life stories, wishes, and legacies can be captured authentically.
Ryan's mother is still with us. She has a secure, meaningful space where her life stories can be captured, shared and passed down, and she knows it.
That part always hits home for me. Legacy isn't only what's left behind. It's also the comfort of knowing your voice won't be lost.
Media reshapes narratives constantly. Confinity lets people keep their stories in their own voice. That mission struck a chord in Uyo.
